In the early 1990s, Doug began his career managing a turf harvesting company which consisted of a single sod harvester and one forklift. In 1995 Doug had an opportunity to transition into turf installation where he managed renovation and installation projects for major home builders, golf courses, athletic and equestrian fields. In 2000 he started his own installation business in Naples which covered a geographic region from Key West to Tampa. His company sold and installed over 100 million square feet of turf before Doug sold the business in 2012. That same year he bought a 50% share of Sun Turf. In 2017 Doug purchased the remaining 50% of the business. As a result of his hands-on experience, Doug truly understands every aspect of the sod industry – from growing and harvesting to logistics and installation. This enables Sun Turf to provide excellent customer satisfaction experience that clients have come to know and count on.
